BIO

Tournament fishing runs in Brian Latimer’s blood. He grew up embedded in the fishing community, winning his first fishing tournament while only being in second grade. Before Brian started fishing professionally, he went to tech school where he received a degree in horticulture. He worked in his family’s landscaping business before eventually operating his own business.

Brian initially struggled when transitioning into professional fishing. “The wind is always in your face,” Brian says. With money being a hurdle, his love for mechanics as a child came in handy with the constant repairs a boat requires to operate correctly. “That's part of the game and what makes professional fishing unique. We don’t have coaches or crews to fix things. I started learning how to deal with things breaking and how to fix them.” His struggles paid off.

In 2019, Brian teamed up with Mark Daniels Jr. taking gold at the Pan American Bass Fishing Championship. “It’s just like the Olympics,” Brian says. “You compete against other countries. It was the first time I ever got to fish for my country, I never thought that would happen.” The 2019 Pan American Bass had participants from the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and the Akwesasne First Nation.

Outside of tournaments, Brian enjoys hobby such as saltwater fishing and spending time outdoors with his wife and children or watching the kids play sports. His plans include continuing his professional fishing career and expanding his successful YouTube channel.
