Greg Vinson

When it comes to Greg Vinson, you could say fishing is in his blood. His journey as a fisherman began with fishing minnows and bluegill and has led to professional tournament fishing for bass. Greg’s father was a “die-hard” bass club member, and he would tag along with his dad to those meetings. Greg would sit in the back and do homework while they held the meetings and talked fishing. He saw the comradery and watched the drawings for upcoming tournaments. Years later, Greg joined the bass club with his father.

As a child, he spent all of his time on the water, fishing and swimming at Lake Martin, in his backyard. As life progressed, he moved to Montgomery where he attended school, graduated, began working full time and started a family. Greg played college sports and found tournament fishing as another way to compete. He has fished in four Bassmaster Classics, finished third in the first MLF REDCREST and has competed in over a hundred tournaments in his 13 years as a pro fisherman.

He finds fishing rewarding, from learning the basics to casting and getting the first bite, followed by the ultimate joy of landing the fish.
